Steven Pelaez, MD, FACS, Colorectal Surgeon
Dr. Steven Pelaez, M.D., FACS has been serving Nassau and Suffolk County as a colorectal surgeon for over 20 years. Certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Dr. Pelaez is a member of the Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons. He was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 1998.
A native of Long Island, Dr. Pelaez was awarded Bachelor of Arts Magna Cum Laude at Boston University. He completed his medical education at New York University Medical School. His general surgery internship and residency training were completed both at Booth Memorial Medical Center, which is now known as New York Hospital Queens. His fellowship in colorectal surgery was completed at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
Dr. Pelaez has also been on humanitarian endeavors by serving as surgical volunteer in Ecuador in the past decade. Interest arose when he spent 4 weeks in Nigeria in a surgical rotation while in his 4th year in Medical School. He brings this high level of care, compassion, and skill in treating his patients with colon and rectal issues.
